About the Sunny Mountain Daycare family of sites
Our child care program is committed to facilitate inclusive care to all children regardless of their abilities and needs. When a child's needs require additional care staffing will be increased to enhance ratios and the care of the child's needs.
Our Emergent curriculum program varies from quiet individual choices to active creative group choices. The child centre curriculum includes a combination of groups divided by age, or mixed ages groups. Activities and learning experiences are developed from the interests of the children. We strive to meet the individual needs of all children on a daily basis.
We ensure that each child is respected, loved, valued, and cared for by our staff, their families, and the community in which we live.
Put your child’s future first!
In 1985 Sunny Mountain Day Care Centre (1985) Inc. became its own entity when moving into the basement of the North YMCA. There the centre was licensed for 40 children ages 18 months to six years of age. The YMCA closed in 1995 and we were forced to look for a new location.
In the winter of 1999 we moved to the location are now in. The centre houses five units and is licensed for 109 children: 12 infants, 61 preschoolers, and 36 school age children. We also offer a nursury school program with 20 spaces.
Sunny Mountain Day Care Centre (1985) Inc. has come a long way from 1977 and is providing the essential care needed in this community.
