Governor Semple Children's Place

Governor Semple Children's Place is located at 150 Hartford inside Governor Semple School

We are licensed for 30 school age spaces and 10 kindergarten spaces.  Our Ages run from 4-11 years of age.  Kindergarten children we can accept as early as July 1, but they must be turning 5 within that year of starting.  We currently have access to the library before and after school, our main room which is in room 8, the gym on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays and a beautiful and spacious outdoor play space which has a huge field, a climbing structure, a basketball court and lots of hard top for kids to play on.
Right now our focus is on nature and outdoors.  We are striving to spend as much time outdoors as possible.  We have been doing lots of nature explorations, organized sports and picnics outdoors.  Our main focus for our site is to encourage each child’s independence, and respecting each other and our environment.  Currently we have been working on lots of sewing crafts and bead work as well as all sorts of sensory activities like water beads, goop, kinetic sand.  We strive to achieve a warm and inviting environment, one that encourages all children to feel comfortable at all times, enjoy themselves and have fun!
